We were seated quickly and our server was top notch. I ordered a wedge salad for lunch and we received our meals very quickly. My wedge salad was delicious with blue cheese dressing and tasty little bacon bits. It was a good portion as well unlike the miniature side salads you get at other restaurants. I washed my salad down with a pint of beer and we were on our way. The one drawback to the location of Rock Bottom is the parking. Unless you have coins for the meters the parking is very difficult and you must park in the surrounding parking garages. Overall, Rock Bottom is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner!

The bar is right near the check-in desk and is easily accessible. I met some friends here and we grabbed some nice seats around a small table. Our waitress took our orders and was very efficient in getting our drinks. I ordered a Jack and Coke and it wasn’t too weak or too strong. The prices of the drinks were a tad high but it is understandable being located on a beautiful resort. I noticed it was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon but the vibe was very mellow and everyone was enjoying themselves. The overall experience at The Lobby Bar is top notch and I highly recommend stopping in for a drink!

I also ordered a margarita which was strong but very tasty. My two item-lunch combo was awesome and the ribs were extra flavorful. I also enjoyed the soft and delicious cornbread with my side of collard greens. Overall, the meal was a tad pricey but filled me up right. I recommend Famous Dave’s if you are ever in the Pine area of Long Beach.

The Nonna’s Meatballs, four of them, are soaked in marinara sauce and is a great tummy-filler (they’re $10, but I think $8 would have been a better price).

I purchased this bowl full of steamed clams the other nigh at Phil Trani’s restaurant. This dish is described as eastern little necks with garlic butter sauce.

We got the tickets and paid an extra $10 per ticket for VIP Status. This was all fine and dandy but the VIP line was really long and we waited in it for a good half hour or longer.

We did get a chance to sit down pretty close to the stage so that was worth it I suppose. I saw a bunch of people up on top and sitting (or standing) up there did not look very appealing.

Right before the show started the girls came around and made sure that everybody was packed in nice and tight. It seemed like it kind of defeated the whole purpose of paying extra to sit comfortably up front.

If I knew that I could show up late and then be selected to sit up front I might have not spent the extra money and took my chances.

The VIP thing bothered me but the show was great so lets talk about that. I have never seen this show before but I am familiar with Kevin Smith’s work in the Silent Bob movies.

Kevin sits behind his computer and controls the sound effects and Ralph is basically the entertainer that reads the news and does most of the impressions. They have a ton of bits and I was laughing my ass off for over an hour.

First of all you want to deal with Jack. I am sure the other guys there are cool but Jack is who takes care of me and he won’t steer you wrong. There are two different options for you.

1. You can go with a beard trim that costs $5 and takes about 10 minutes
or
2. You can go with the full hot shave which is very relaxing and takes about 45 minutes.

I have done both and I have enjoyed them both. This is just an old school barber shop with no hipster bullshit stuff going on. You come in and get trimmed up and talk a little sports or whatever and move on down the road.

Parking: There are a few spots out front on the street on Long Beach Blvd or you drive just past the barber shop and there is a little archway in the middle of the building that you drive into. There is a pretty decent sized parking lot back there.

Parking is easy to deal with and they people that work in the store are a little pushy but not annoying like some clothing stores where they just try and hard sell you from the minute you walk in the door. It seems like there is a lot of theft in the store because you kind of always have that “they are watching me” feeling as you are strolling back and forth between the clothing racks and the two dressing rooms.

There are a ton of clothes for nurses and other hospital workers which makes sense giving the proximity to Long Beach Memorial Hospital. All in all the prices are fair and the service has been what you would expect out of a shop like this.
